This will get better and you didn't destroy your body... (of course I am 9 days away from my surgery so I can't really say, but I am hoping it helps!)
ReplyDeleteI heard days 4-6 are the hardest, and if you can get through those, that it will start to ease up...
You can do it!!!!!!!
I felt the exact same why... " Why on earth did I do this?" I am only down 16 pounds so far and people are already starting to notice! The first few days are the hardest. There is so much doubt but you will get better everyday.
ReplyDeleteWalk, walk, walk, take as many Gas-X thin strips as you can. If you haven't had that first BM yet, try some Milk of Mag to get things moving, you will feel so much better after that too. And don't be a hero take the pain meds! I never had the shoulder pain cuz I walked often and popped Zofran and Gas-X like it was candy!
You are going to be so completely fine - more than fine - you're going to be so happy and skinny and healthy! I remember feeling so so awful and thinking no matter how much research I'd done, no one was really honest with me about how much pain I'd be in. But that's silly, it's just easy to forget. I felt very panicky about the pain, but after a few weeks, I'd forgotten all about it. Thinking of you xxx
ReplyDeleteDays 3 and 4 were the hardest for me, but every day after that got a little bit easier. I went back to work 1 week post op and I had to take it easy that week. By week 2 I was good to go. I was very fortunate and didn't have the gas issues, so I don't have any good advice for that. I promise it gets better and easier!!
ReplyDeleteyou didn't make a mistake! You are going to be fine and you are one step closer to a healthier you! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI see you just had surgery, the gas pains are bad for the first week or so and then they let up. You will be fine, you are still in recovery... Don't worry! I just found your blog... I had a lapband installed in March of 2010, I got 1/2 way through my journey and now I am working at being revised to the Gastric Bypass to get the rest of the way to goal. I am happy to be a new follower. *Maria*~DiZneDiVa:Blogger from "This One Time at Band Camp... 1 vs 300" Follow my journey at mybigfatbandgeeklife.blogspot.com
